  Travel

The international airport, Leon/Guanajuato (BJX), is located 40 km from Guanajuato City and there are convenient flights from Dallas Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, and Mexico City.

Transportation from the airport to Guanajuato City: As you clear customs, once you've passed the sliding doors, to your left you'll find a booth of authorized taxi cabs. You'll have to pay at the booth, indicating that you wish to go to Guanajuato and giving them the name of your hotel. That should be enough information. The cost should be around $300 pesos (~ 30 Canadian Dollars).

Location of Guanajuato City and CIMAT

Guanajuato is a state located at the center of Mexico, about 400 km from Mexico City and 800 km from the US border. The capital of this state is Guanajuato City, a colonial city founded in the XVI century and because of its beauty, its historical importance and its monuments, Guanajuato was declared "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO in 1988.
